Experience an unforgettable trip to amazing Austria - more specifically Carinthia, exploring its magnificent valleys and mountain vistas. Home of the Austrian skiing region, you'll be awe-struck by the dramatic surrounding landscapes. In such a mountainous area, this trip is ironically quite flat, following the valleys that cut through the mountains. It suits the regular immediate cyclist who enjoys manageable riding taking in the surrounds and experiencing the local culture. The ride starts in Salzburg early afternoon on the first day so there will be an opportunity for early comers to explore Mozart's picturesque home town. The route follows the Alpe-Adria-Radweg trail which is an unforgettable diverse experience. The trail was awarded the European Cycle Path Award of the year in 2015. .

After 3 days in the saddle, this amazing experience culminates at the Villacher Kirchtag; Austria's largest traditional festival. Put simply, it's very Austrian and quite spectacular!

Day 3 - Mallnitz to Spittal

The third day couldn't start an easier with a train ride through the tunnel to Mallnitz on the south-side of Alps. The magnificence of the Carinthia region continues as the route follows the Lower Mölltal valley, which is nestled amidst 3000m mountain peaks. The outstanding attractions on the way include the wonderfully dramatic Groppensteinschlucht gorge, historic Obervellach town center, the Falkenstein castle, and the Barbarossa canyon.
